ROC Vision Zero: Fixing Upstate’s Most Dangerous Streets
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Citizens and officials met for a ROC Vision Zero session to address the city’s rising roadway risks. During the meeting, the community raised a major concern: that Rochester has become the most dangerous city in Upstate New York to travel from point A to point B.
Some citizens expressed strong concerns as the discussion turned toward bringing speed and red light cameras back to the city. Rochester officially ended its red light camera program a decade ago. Now, officials are revisiting these tools as part of a plan to curb the high rate of accidents and make the streets safer for everyone.
