BREAKING NEWS: A high-speed pursuit by New York State Troopers ended in a fatal, fiery crash on Lake Avenue near Lakeview Park.
The chase began on the east side of Rochester, New York, when a suspect fled a traffic stop. During the flight, the suspect hit multiple other vehicles, causing minor, non-life-threatening injuries to those occupants.
The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed and exploded into flames. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The New York State Attorney General’s Office is now investigating, which is standard procedure for police encounters resulting in a fatality.
