ROCHESTER CLEAN SWEEP UNDERWAY
ROCHESTER, NY — Hundreds of people gathered this morning for the annual Clean Sweep, officially breaking last year’s record for the highest number of volunteers to show up for the city-wide cleanup.
Starting at the ballpark, neighbors and community groups worked together to clear debris and beautify local streets. The massive turnout highlights a growing pride in the Rochester community.
Mayor Malik Evans joined the crowds to show his support for the effort. During the event, Evans shared his gratitude for the record-breaking attendance, stating, “I want to thank the people for coming out and supporting this.” To celebrate their hard work, volunteers are heading back to the stadium for a Rochester Red Wings baseball game starting at 1:00 PM.
