ORANGE OUT AT PARCEL 5: ROC ROYAL AND CITY HOST ANTI-GUN VIOLENCE EVENT
Downtown’s Parcel 5 was flooded with the color orange yesterday as local organization Roc Royal and the City of Rochester teamed up for an anti-gun violence community event.
The gathering ran from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM to raise awareness for gun violence prevention. The event packed the open space with vital community resources, connecting families directly with youth outreach programs, local job training services, and neighborhood safety teams.
Rochester Mayor Malik Evans joined the event to speak with residents and reinforce the city’s commitment to peace.
“One person killed is one too many,” Mayor Evans stated.
